Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Page! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Pearson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Page avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Page throws a series of punches but Pearson moves out of range. Pearson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Page circles away. Pearson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Page paws at him with a jab and circles away. Page really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Page closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pearson prevents Page from improving position. Page postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Page working away. Page controls the position. Page working away. Page cracks Pearson with a big right hand but Pearson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pearson tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ground and pound from Page seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Page clinches up against the cage. Pearson wants a takedown.

Jacob Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Pearson. Pearson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pearson is trying to trip Page. He has hold of a leg but Page is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pearson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Page is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pearson is controlling him. Pearson postures up.
Page looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Page bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pearson's guard. Page passes into half guard. Pearson is looking to control Page's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pearson avoid being mounted? Pearson looks gassed! Page controlling the action here.

Page looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Page missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Page thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Page clinches but Pearson breaks the clinch and Pearson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pearson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Page keeping full guard, as Pearson tries to pass. Page working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pearson has passed into half guard!
Pearson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Page tries to get to full guard but Pearson has control of the leg. Page wants to get back to his feet. Pearson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Page is trying to get back to full guard. Pearson stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Page tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Pearson will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Pearson tries to land a front kick but Page steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Page circles away from the clinch attempt and Page counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pearson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.
Page in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pearson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Page! Page gets back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Page is looking to get back to full guard here but Pearson has managed to pass to side control instead. Page is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson content just to control the position here. Page is trying desperately to improve position. Pearson wants to control the pace but Page is squirming around nicely. Pearson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Page wants to hold on but Pearson pushes him away. Page really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Page is squirming around, avoiding Pearson's attempts to control the action. Pearson controlling from mount. Page working to try and regain half guard.
Page looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Pearson lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Page is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Nice work there by Page! Pearson keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully. Page is fighting to break Pearson's control of his arms but Pearson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Page misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Page misses with a takedown attempt and Pearson counters with a series of strikes. Page will be more careful next time no doubt. Page takes the fight into the clinch. Pearson jumps guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Page accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pearson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Page decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pearson, up you get! Pearson scores a takedown into full mount! Page keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

John Pearson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Page's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
