Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solar Eclipse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Solar Eclipse looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Solar Eclipse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Lovell!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eclipse tries for a takedown but Lovell circles away easily
and Lovell counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Solar Eclipse has been cut.
Lovell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lovell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lovell moves into the clinch.
Eclipse tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lovell smiles and moves away.

Lovell drops Eclipse with a beautiful combination! Eclipse stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lovell is looking for the KO!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lovell moves into the clinch successfully.
Eclipse tries for a takedown but Lovell manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solar Eclipse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lovell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lovell throws a right and a left that Eclipse avoids nicely.
Eclipse is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lovell.
Eclipse is breathing heavily.

Eclipse shoots in and drives through. Lovell sprawls well.
No joy there for Lovell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Eclipse walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


Solar Eclipse's cut is getting worse.

Lovell drives through with a takedown into Eclipse's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Lovell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lovell lands a nice short elbow.

Eclipse won't allow Lovell to pass to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lovell decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A head kick misses from Lovell.
Lovell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Eclipse circles away quickly and effectively.
Lovell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Eclipse backs up against the cage.

Lovell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Eclipse lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lovell!
Eclipse is looking to work his way around to Lovell's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Eclipse manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lovell to take his back!
Eclipse doesn't have the hooks in and Lovell manages to turn into his guard.

Lovell content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Eclipse has locked up a guillotine! Eclipse's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Lovell is holding on here and Eclipse must be using up a lot of energy. Lovell has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Eclipse gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Solar Eclipse!
A very excited looking Solar Eclipse rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
