The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dengel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dream Machine.

Dengel gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

letting Dengel counter with a right hand.

and Dengel counters by moving into the clinch.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dengel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dream Machine swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Dengel counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dream Machine!
Dream Machine regains half guard.
Dengel is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dream Machine reverses the position - he's now on top in Dengel's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dream Machine avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dengel is fighting to break Dream Machine's control of his arms but Dream Machine is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dream Machine has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dengel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dream Machine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dengel wants to get back to his feet but Dream Machine drags him back down.
Dream Machine stands up and beckons Dengel to his feet.

Dengel is stalling here. Dream Machine is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dengel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dream Machine has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
