0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Patrick Corrida! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corrida fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Corrida throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Akalumba. Sunday Akalumba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Akalumba throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Corrida. Akalumba gets caught napping as Corrida dives in and scores a takedown. Akalumba manages to retain guard. Corrida wants to control from the top but Akalumba keeps moving. Corrida is pushing down on Akalumba's leg trying to pass to half guard. Akalumba is fighting to maintain full guard but Corrida has managed to sneak the leg through. Corrida is controlling the pace.
Corrida seems to be looking for submissions.
Corrida tries to pass the half guard into mount. Akalumba knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corrida is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Akalumba defends it well. Corrida controlling the pace. Akalumba is defending against the submission attempts here by Corrida.
Akalumba is looking to control Corrida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Akalumba avoid being mounted? Corrida wants to control but Akalumba is keeping him busy. Akalumba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Corrida on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akalumba tries to kick Corrida off but Corrida keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Corrida performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Akalumba is looking to improve his position.
Corrida is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Corrida stands up and beckons Akalumba to join him on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corrida tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Akalumba swivels and escapes. Corrida throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Akalumba was covering up waiting for the punch and Corrida finishes the takedown easily into guard. Akalumba is trying to hold Corrida in close to prevent damage but Corrida has managed to pass into half guard.
Corrida is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Corrida is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Corrida looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corrida works his way into side control. Corrida in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Akalumba is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
