Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthieu Renaud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Stugatz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renaud comes to the cage accompanied by Bite Marks/ Screeching Weasel. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthieu Renaud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paulo Stugatz! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Renaud, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Renaud will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stugatz gets a takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Stugatz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Stugatz is thwarting Renaud's attempts to control the position. Ground and pound from Stugatz. Renaud trying to control but Stugatz postures up.
Renaud wants to improve his position but Stugatz is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stugatz drops an elbow to the side of Renaud's head. Stugatz prevents Renaud from improving his position. Stugatz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Renaud defending well though. Stugatz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stugatz connects with a nice short shot to Renaud's temple. Stugatz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Renaud's head. Renaud knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stugatz on the ground. Stugatz trying to control the action but Renaud is working from the bottom. Stugatz with the ground and pound but Renaud uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stugatz wants to pass the guard but Renaud is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stugatz trying to control but Renaud is working from the bottom. Renaud is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stugatz is controlling him. Renaud looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stugatz throws a big right hand that misses. Stugatz slips nicely into half guard. Stugatz slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stugatz is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stugatz content to control rather than advance. Stugatz missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Renaud is trying to stand up here but Stugatz is controlling him well. Stugatz is trying to control. Renaud wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Stugatz is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Stugatz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paulo Stugatz. Renaud looks to land a combination but Stugatz avoids it well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stugatz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Renaud.

Paulo Stugatz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Paulo Stugatz has been cut. Renaud throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stugatz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Renaud's guard. Renaud keeping moving, preventing Stugatz from controlling successfully. Stugatz slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stugatz not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stugatz controlling the action here. Stugatz looks to land a strike but Renaud avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Renaud can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stugatz controls the pace. Stugatz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Stugatz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stugatz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stugatz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Renaud on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Renaud tries to get out of the position. Stugatz looking to sit in guard and control but Renaud gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Stugatz trying to control the position here. Renaud trying to stand up but can't free himself from Stugatz's guard. Renaud won't allow Stugatz to sweep him here. Renaud trying to control the position from guard on top but Stugatz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick by Renaud misses and Stugatz counters with a leg kick. Stugatz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Horrible takedown by Stugatz or perhaps it was just good defense by Renaud which made him look bad. Matthieu Renaud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Stugatz. Renaud gets caught napping as Stugatz dives in and scores a takedown. Renaud manages to retain guard. Renaud utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Renaud keeping moving, preventing Stugatz from controlling successfully. Stugatz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paulo Stugatz wasn't active enough on the ground. Renaud blocks a head kick by Stugatz.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stugatz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stugatz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Renaud sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stugatz somewhat. Stugatz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Renaud throws out the jab. Stugatz shoots in for a takedown but Renaud shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stugatz closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Renaud's guard. Stugatz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Renaud utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stugatz throwing strikes from guard but Renaud blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paulo Stugatz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Paulo Stugatz's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Stugatz is in close to Renaud's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stugatz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Renaud is keeping the position for now. Stugatz trying to control but Renaud is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stugatz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Renaud being controlled here, momentarily. Stugatz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Renaud's guard. Stugatz passes to side control. Stugatz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Renaud keeps working. Paulo Stugatz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stugatz controls the position from side control. Renaud is pushing Stugatz's head away, looking to escape. Stugatz manages to hold on to the position though. Stugatz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stugatz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Renaud keeps working. Stugatz advances to mount. Renaud tries to hold on but Stugatz postures up. Stugatz looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Renaud is in a horrible position here. Stugatz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Stugatz landing strikes, looking to finish! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stugatz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Stugatz throwing strikes here but Renaud is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Stugatz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Renaud can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Stugatz lands a big shot there that rocks Renaud but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stugatz landing strikes from the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Stugatz connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Renaud is rocked! A big strike lands for Stugatz! That's really hurt Renaud and he's turned his back - Stugatz keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Stugatz jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
