Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makunouchi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taylor circles away quickly and effectively.
Taylor throws a leg kick but Makunouchi sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Makunouchi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Taylor throws a right and a left that Makunouchi avoids nicely.
Makunouchi takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Makunouchi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Makunouchi passes Taylor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Makunouchi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Makunouchi . Taylor does a little dance to reset his feet.

Taylor closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Makunouchi ! Taylor dives in looking to finish! Makunouchi is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
