Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Salcedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinji Aoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salcedo's entrance music is Muse - Muscle Museum. A fine choice. Shinji Aoshi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Salcedo.
Salcedo throws a body punch but Aoshi moves out of range.
Aoshi tries a head kick but it misses.
Salcedo blocks a head kick by Aoshi.
Aoshi throws a head kick that Salcedo semi-blocks.

It looks like Julio Salcedo has been cut.
Salcedo shoots in but no luck this time.
Aoshi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Salcedo takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Aoshi moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salcedo misses with a straight left.
Salcedo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aoshi moves away.
Aoshi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aoshi throws a sloppy head kick and Salcedo moves out of range easily.
Some wild striking there from Aoshi.
No joy there for Salcedo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Salcedo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salcedo lands in his opponent's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Aoshi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Salcedo trying to control the position from guard on top but Aoshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aoshi is looking to stand back up but Salcedo counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Aoshi.

Salcedo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Salcedo tries to pass to full mount but Aoshi defends it.
Aoshi is trying to stand up here but Salcedo is controlling him well.
Salcedo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

It looks like Shinji Aoshi has been cut.

Salcedo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Salcedo is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aoshi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Aoshi is looking to escape.

Salcedo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Aoshi is in a horrible position here. Salcedo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Aoshi is squirming around, avoiding Salcedo's attempts to control the action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Salcedo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That has opened up Shinji Aoshi's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shinji Aoshi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
