The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathews looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Miller looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mathews pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Miller is keeping the position for now.
Mathews working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Miller looking for a sweep. Not yet Miller, not yet.
Mathews not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Mathews throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Miller works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mathews sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Miller's guard.

Mathews lands with a punch from half guard.
Mathews with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Mathews is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mathews is taking a breather. Miller says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mathews wants to work for an arm triangle but Miller is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mathews is nestled in close to Miller, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mathews lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mathews moves into full mount! Miller won't be happy about that!
Mathews is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Miller can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mathews loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Miller scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mathews land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mathews stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wesley Mathews!
Wesley Mathews was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
