Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Deniro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deniro's entrance music is The rage. A fine choice. Rutten has chosen Pride as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Deniro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bas Rutten! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deniro shoots in but Rutten avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rutten drops his hands momentarily and Deniro takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Rutten drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Rutten drops back looking for a leg! Deniro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Deniro manages to kick Rutten off! Rutten jumps back into Deniro's guard. Rutten wants to pass the guard but Deniro is keeping the position. Deniro is working an open guard so Rutten takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Deniro misses with a straight left. Rutten moves into the clinch. Deniro has had enough of the clinch but Rutten keeps him there for the moment. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rutten tries for a takedown. No joy.
Deniro wants to break free but Rutten has control.
Rutten is working for takedown but Deniro is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Steve Deniro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Rutten. Rutten landing knees to the body.
Rutten lands a knee to the head.
Rutten has Deniro pressed against the cage, preventing Deniro from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Rutten tries a knee to the head but Deniro blocks it.
Deniro is trying to force a seperation but Rutten has the dominant position. Rutten manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rutten is defended easily by Deniro. Rutten moves away from the strike by Deniro. Rutten takes the fight into the clinch. Deniro is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deniro is trying to stall.
Deniro wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rutten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rutten stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rutten wants it to stay on the feet. Rutten fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Deniro. Deniro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deniro lands a left and a right that send Rutten crashing to the mat, dazed. Deniro thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rutten missing with a left hand there. Deniro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bas Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rutten pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Deniro slaps away a takedown attempt from Rutten, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rutten slips a jab and a cross from Deniro.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deniro throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Deniro swats away the attempt to clinch by Rutten. Deniro stalks Rutten and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rutten's face. Rutten staggers backwards, shaken. Rutten lands a nice looking body kick. Rutten fails with the takedown. Rutten slips a straight right by Deniro. Rutten scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rutten wants to take a breather but Deniro is having none of it. Deniro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutten is trying to work for a kimura but Deniro is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rutten is thwarting Deniro's attempts to control the position. Rutten is trying to control. Deniro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rutten seems to be working for a kimura but Deniro defends the submission attempt. Deniro trying to control here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Deniro works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Deniro dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rutten tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deniro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rutten somewhat. Rutten shoots in for a takedown but Deniro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Steve Deniro is winning the standup battle so far. Rutten wants to clinch up but Deniro keeps it at a distance. Rutten throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rutten tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rutten rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Deniro moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Deniro connects with a nice looking jab.
Deniro grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Rutten takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Deniro cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Deniro! Steve Deniro got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
