Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Steel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oli Sykes! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sykes throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Steel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sykes throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sykes looks to land a right hand but Steel moved out of range. Sykes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sykes misses with a hook. Sykes swinging wildly here.
Sykes misses with a left hand and Sykes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Steel staying out of range there. Nice defenses there by Steel. A jab from Sykes misses. Sykes rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Steel counters with an inside leg kick. Steel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sykes, pushing him back against the cage. Steel landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steel manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sykes wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving. Steel trying to control the position here. Steel has a closed guard, preventing Sykes from standing up. Steel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sykes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Steel pulls Sykes in close to his closed guard and prevents Sykes from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel pushes a forearm under Sykes's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sykes is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jim Steel! A relieved looking Jim Steel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
