Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roman Wiher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Muralha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Wiher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Muralha!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiher scores with a takedown into Muralha's guard.

Muralha tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wiher swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wiher seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wiher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wiher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Wiher throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Muralha tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wiher is in Muralha's guard.
Wiher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Still in half guard, Wiher seems content to control.
Wiher has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Roman Wiher wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Wiher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Muralha to the mat! Muralha manages to get full guard.

Wiher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Wiher shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wiher showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Muralha is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wiher pulls his head out easily.

Wiher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Muralha on the ground.

Wiher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Muralha napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Muralha is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wiher is controlling him well.

Muralha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Muralha decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Wiher feints and as Muralha raises his hands in defense, Wiher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wiher might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Muralha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wiher gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Muralha throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Wiher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Muralha is keeping the position for now.

Muralha has his foot on Wiher's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wiher works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Wiher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
