Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Daveson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Daveson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Daveson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko misses with a takedown attempt - Daveson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Daveson tries to sprawl out of it but Emelianenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Daveson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Emelianenko lands a lovely overhand right. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Daveson as he avoids it easily. David Daveson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko fails to land the takedown. Daveson tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance. Daveson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Daveson persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing. Daveson is breathing heavily. Daveson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daveson off to one side. Daveson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Daveson persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing. Emelianenko looks to land a combination. Daveson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Daveson is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelianenko misses with a takedown attempt - Daveson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Oh Daveson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Daveson seems to have got his legs back now. Emelianenko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Emelianenko wants to get back to striking at distance but Daveson won't allow it.
Emelianenko is trying to drag Daveson to the mat but Daveson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Emelianenko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Emelianenko jumps guard but Daveson stands there with Emelianenko around his waist. Emelianenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Daveson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Emelianenko's elbow. Emelianenko tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Daveson just stands there and leans against the cage. Emelianenko pulls Daveson into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Emelianenko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Daveson from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko pulls Daveson in close to prevent any damage. Daveson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Emelianenko seems keen to control Daveson's posture. Daveson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Daveson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Daveson fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Emelianenko lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Daveson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Daveson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Emelianenko scores with a three punch combo!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Daveson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown but Daveson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Emelianenko's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Emelianenko clinches up with Daveson and pushes him back against the cage. Emelianenko is working for takedown but Daveson is calmly controlling the position for now. Daveson tries to work over Emelianenko's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Fedor Emelianenko. Well Emelianenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
