Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuya Takimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tetsuya Takimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Doet!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doet swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Takimoto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Takimoto misses with a body shot.
Doet cracks Takimoto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Takimoto lands a head shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doet. Takimoto does a little dance to reset his feet.
Doet thows a body shot but no joy.
No joy there for Takimoto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Doet throws a hook but Takimoto avoids it easily.
Takimoto walks into a jab.
Doet throws a body punch but Takimoto moves out of range.
Doet misses with a hook. Takimoto ducked under it nicely.
Doet slips under a jab.

Takimoto gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Doet to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Takimoto wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doet trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Doet passes into half guard.

Doet is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Takimoto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Doet.

Doet looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Doet is looking for a kimura here.

Doet is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doet is keen to just control but Takimoto is a slippery customer.
Doet trying to mount his opponent but Takimoto defends it.
Takimoto makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Takimoto.
Takimoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Takimoto, not yet.
Doet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takimoto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Takimoto is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Doet tries to free his leg and advance position but Takimoto is retaining full guard.
Doet throws a strike but Takimoto rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Takimoto is fighting to break Doet's control of his arms but Doet is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Doet had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Takimoto defends it easily.

Takimoto avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Doet is trying to control the position but Takimoto postures up.

Doet has his foot on Takimoto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Takimoto works his way back into a safe position though.
Doet is trying to keep Takimoto in close.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Doet is on top in guard.

Takimoto looks to score with a jab to the body but Doet is just out of range.
Takimoto getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Takimoto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Takimoto cracks Doet with a right hand to the side of the head.
Takimoto throws a right and a left that Doet avoids nicely.
Takimoto tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Doet connects with a solid leg kick.
Doet lands with a nice body punch.

Doet drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Takimoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Doet pushes down on Takimoto's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Takimoto is pressing down on Doet's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takimoto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Takimoto is trying to keep Doet in close.

Doet passes Takimoto's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Doet is looking to take a break and control but Takimoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Doet is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Takimoto still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Takimoto has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Takimoto is trying to get an arm triangle but Doet is defending well.

Doet is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Takimoto is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Takimoto wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Doet is desperately trying to improve his position but Takimoto has a good base and remains in mount.
Doet is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Takimoto wants to get back to his feet but Doet is holding on tight.

Doet really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Doet sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Doet is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takimoto pulls his head out easily.
Doet moves into full guard.
Takimoto looking to sit in guard and control but Doet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Doet drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Takimoto dives on top into guard.

Doet looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Takimoto passes into half guard.
Takimoto tries to pass to full mount but Doet defends it.

Takimoto is working for a submission of some sort.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doet moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Doet loads up on a big right hand but Takimoto slips the punch.
Takimoto throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Takimoto on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Takimoto connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Doet tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takimoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Doet.
Doet fails with a takedown attempt.
Takimoto lunges at Doet with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Doet's hand.
Doet keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Doet closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Takimoto to the mat! Takimoto manages to get full guard.

Takimoto wants to sweep here but Doet controlling him for the moment.

Doet controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Doet slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Doet feints and as Takimoto raises his hands in defense, Doet changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Doet is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Doet stands and throws Takimoto's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Takimoto can't do much from the bottom here.
Takimoto is trying to get back to half guard.

The strikes coming from Doet are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Doet is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Doet is pressing down on Takimoto's thigh, looking to free his foot. Takimoto is holding on for now.
John Doet is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Takimoto is in trouble now - Doet has advanced to mount!

Takimoto wants to hold on but Doet pushes him away.

Tetsuya Takimoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Let's hope that Doet has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
