Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gracion Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Blais has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gracion Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, William Blais!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blais lands a glancing blow to the side of Silva's head.
Blais thows a body shot but no joy.
Silva lands a nice looking kick to the body. Blais takes a step back to recover.
William Blais seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blais tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Blais.

Silva gets a clinch.
Silva prevents Blais from breaking the clinch.
Silva has Blais pressed against the cage, preventing Blais from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blais tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Blais wants to get back to his feet but Silva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Silva gets to his feet - Blais follows without any prompting.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Blais, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Blais against the cage but Blais circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Blais lands with a nice body punch.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Blais manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Blais fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Blais works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blais connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Blais will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Blais is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gracion Silva will probably get the nod.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva stands up and beckons Blais to his feet.

Blais lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
