The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fergus getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Fergus is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Joaninho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Joaninho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fergus thinking.

Joaninho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fergus moves away.
Fergus throws a good cross that connects.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Joaninho uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fergus.
Joaninho throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fergus uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Joaninho has time to react.

Fergus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Joaninho does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fergus is nestled in close to Joaninho, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Joaninho is in trouble now - Fergus has advanced to mount!
Fergus with shots to the head and body - Joaninho looks very uncomfortable down there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Joaninho takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Fergus's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
