Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Mitrione! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hugh Jazz! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jazz darts in and clinches Mitrione up against the cage. Mitrione wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jazz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mitrione has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Mitrione has had enough of the clinch but Jazz keeps him there for the moment. Mitrione avoiding damage as Jazz throws knees to the body.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jazz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jazz wriggles free and stands up. Jazz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mitrione, pushing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jazz goes for a takedown attempt but Mitrione pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Mitrione will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mitrione wants to control from the top but Jazz keeps moving. Jazz seems keen to control Mitrione's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jazz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mitrione is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mitrione throws an elbow that misses. Jazz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mitrione's guard. Nice move by Jazz! Mitrione wants to stand but Jazz is controlling the position. Jazz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mitrione being controlled here, momentarily. Jazz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jazz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jazz drives through and clinches with Mitrione against the cage.

Jazz is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mitrione is defending well. Jazz prevents Mitrione from breaking the clinch. Jazz is trying to pull guard but Mitrione has him pressed against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jazz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Mitrione wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jazz prevents Mitrione from breaking the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mitrione tries to circle away but Jazz has him pinned against the cage. Jazz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mitrione to keep the fight standing. Mitrione is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jazz tries to pull guard but Mitrione holds him up against the cage and eventually Jazz drops back down to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mitrione working hard to break the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugh Jazz dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Mitrione leaves Jazz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jazz fails to land the takedown. Hugh Jazz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jazz shoots in looking for a takedown but Mitrione manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jazz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Matt Mitrione has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugh Jazz. Jazz throws a sloppy head kick and Mitrione moves out of range easily. Jazz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mitrione sprawls well. Mitrione wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jazz gets slowly back to his feet. Jazz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mitrione is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jazz throws a head kick that misses letting Mitrione counter with a right hand. Mitrione displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jazz. Mitrione lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jazz circles away quickly and effectively. A left and a right from Mitrione both land. Nice combination. Mitrione swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mitrione throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mitrione throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jazz has closed the distance and engaged Mitrione in a clinch.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jazz. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Mitrione prevents the takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mitrione is trying to push Jazz away but Jazz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jazz content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Jazz gets control of Mitrione's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jazz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Jazz is pulling down on Mitrione's head to control his posture. Mitrione loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jazz wants to sweep but no luck. Jazz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hugh Jazz has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jazz throws a lazy head kick and Mitrione counters with a nice body shot. Jazz is breathing heavily. Mitrione lands a right hook to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mitrione misses with a two punch combination.
Mitrione thuds a left hand into Jazz's body. Mitrione closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mitrione connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Jazz tumbling to the canvas! Mitrione pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Jazz was done - good stoppage!
