Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Maestro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephens has chosen I Want War as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Maestro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Stephens!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maestro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stephens as he avoids it easily.
Stephens shoots for a takedown but Maestro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stephens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Stephens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maestro as he jumps to the side.
Maestro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stephens.
Paul Maestro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Stephens.
Stephens is looking to clinch but Maestro is avoiding it.

Stephens fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maestro avoids it really well and circles away.

Stephens has his feet on Maestro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Stephens shoots in and drives through. Maestro sprawls well.

Stephens throws a right and a left that Maestro avoids nicely.

Stephens shoots in for a takedown but Maestro shows good takedown defense.

Maestro feints a jab promting Stephens to slip. Maestro then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stephens slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Maestro counters with a straight right hand.

Maestro is looking to clinch but Stephens is avoiding it.

Stephens shoots in for a double leg but Maestro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Stephens clinches up with Maestro and pushes him back against the cage.
Stephens tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maestro just stands there and leans against the cage.
Maestro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stephens is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Maestro looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Stephens wants a takedown but no success here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jeremy Stephens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Stephens moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Maestro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stephens paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Maestro seems to have got his legs back now.
Stephens lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Well Stephens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
