Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ras Putten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Putten has chosen Aish Tamid by Matisyahu as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Ras Putten enters the ring!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Putten lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Diaz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Diaz. Putten pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz catches Putten with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A jab from Putten misses. Putten misses with a head kick.
Diaz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Putten stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Putten misses with a looping left. Diaz lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Putten takes a body punch but keeps moving. Diaz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Diaz lands with a shot to the body. Diaz scores with a one two! Putten had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing. Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Putten circles away quickly and effectively. Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Putten throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Putten's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Putten working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Putten throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Diaz wants to stand and escape but Putten is having none of it. Putten with a flurry of punches that miss. Putten wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Putten tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard. Putten stops Diaz from standing up. Putten loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Diaz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Putten's guard. Nice move by Diaz! Putten has hold of Diaz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Diaz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Putten misses with a head shot. Putten goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Diaz turns into him and now he's in Putten's guard.

Diaz won't allow Putten to get back to his feet. Diaz is looking to stand up but Putten won't let him. Putten has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Diaz is looking to stand up but Putten won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putten is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diaz is controlling him. Putten has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Putten. Putten tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position. Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Putten keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Putten is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Diaz is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Putten is squirming around, avoiding Diaz's attempts to control the action. Putten is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Putten is trying to stand. Diaz trying to control but he's not successful this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Putten has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Diaz prevents Putten from getting the reversal.
And that's the end of the fight! Ras Putten comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Putten has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
