Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gilvan Firmo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Scholaschi! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scholaschi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Firmo. Scholaschi has a takedown stuffed. Scholaschi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Scholaschi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Scholaschi drives through with a takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scholaschi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Scholaschi postures up.
Scholaschi pushing down on Firmo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Firmo is pressing down on Scholaschi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. Firmo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scholaschi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Scholaschi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scholaschi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Firmo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Scholaschi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scholaschi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Scholaschi drops back for a leg! Scholaschi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Firmo wants to get back to his feet but Scholaschi is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Scholaschi drops back looking for a leg! Firmo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Firmo manages to kick Scholaschi off! Scholaschi jumps back into Firmo's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scholaschi drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Scholaschi seems to have locked his on tight now - Firmo screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Scholaschi, as he picks up the win!
