Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beecher Meetz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen I am The Law as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Beecher Meetz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derick Smith! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meetz takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Horrible takedown by Meetz or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. Meetz blocks a head kick by Smith.
Meetz tries to clinch but Smith moves away and Smith counters with a stiff right hand. Meetz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Meetz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Meetz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Meetz off to one side. Meetz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away. Smith connects with an inside leg kick. Smith clinches. Meetz tries to break free but Smith pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meetz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Beecher Meetz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meetz is trying to pull guard but Smith turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Meetz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Smith cracks Meetz with a nice body shot. Smith prevents Meetz from breaking the clinch. Meetz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Smith breaks from the clinch.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Meetz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Smith drives through and clinches with Meetz against the cage.
Meetz trying to stall but Smith improves his position.
Meetz misses with the head strike.
Meetz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meetz swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Smith has picked Meetz up - he's going for a ride! Smith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Smith throwing shots but Meetz is blocking nicely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smith gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Smith lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Smith leaves Meetz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Meetz is breathing heavily. Smith swinging wildly here.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Meetz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Smith - the referee stops the clock and Meetz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Smith. Meetz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Smith fails to land with a series of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith lands a head kick. Meetz smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Smith scores with a head kick.
Smith moves into range and clinches up with Meetz. Meetz looking to stall.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Meetz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith digs a good hook to Meetz's body.
Smith pushes Meetz up against the cage in a clinch. Smith has Meetz pressed against the cage, preventing Meetz from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Smith manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meetz tries to clinch but fails miserably and Smith counters with a nice body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Meetz tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A punch combination from Meetz misses. Smith drives through with a takedown into Meetz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Meetz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Meetz wants to stand but Smith is controlling the position. Smith tries to stand but Meetz is controlling from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Smith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Meetz's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derick Smith dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Meetz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes. Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Meetz which made him look bad. Smith lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Meetz backs up against the cage.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Smith. Derick Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Meetz tries to clinch but Smith moves away and Smith counters with a left to the body. Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Meetz is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Smith scoring with strikes to the body and head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meetz wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith decides to return to a standing position. Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing. Meetz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Beecher Meetz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Smith throws a head kick that half lands.
Meetz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Meetz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Meetz tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meetz clinches. Meetz tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Smith throws a right and a left that both miss. Smith tries for a takedown but Meetz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Meetz defends it nicely. Meetz tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Meetz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meetz wants it to stay on the feet. Smith throws a leg kick which misses Meetz's front leg but catches the back leg as Meetz tries to avoid it. Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Meetz tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Meetz to the ground. Meetz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Meetz pushes Smith off and gets back to his feet.
Meetz shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well. Meetz tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Meetz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Smith finds it's way round the side to connect with Meetz's head. The crowd cheers as Smith lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meetz doesn't seem phased though. Meetz tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meetz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Smith throws a one two combo.
Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Meetz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Meetz fails in his attempt to clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Meetz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meetz wants it to stay on the feet. Smith throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derick Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Meetz on that attempt. Meetz shoots and misses and Smith counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Meetz is lucky that one didn't land flush. Meetz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.

Smith lands a head kick. Meetz smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Meetz is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smith. Jab, jab by Smith - just one landing. Smith throws a push kick but Meetz slaps the foot to one side. Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meetz swivels and escapes. Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Meetz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab. Meetz clinches. Meetz breaks from the clinch.
Meetz closes the distance and clinches. Smith tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Meetz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Beecher Meetz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meetz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Meetz is trying to break free. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smith creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Smith unloads a knee to the mid-section. Meetz lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meetz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith lands a lovely overhand right. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meetz is defended easily by Smith. Smith lands a jab to Meetz's midsection. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith rushes Meetz and presses him up against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Meetz's face as he tries to break the clinch. Smith manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meetz's guard. Smith stands and steps away. Meetz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Meetz shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily. Smith stalks Meetz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meetz's face. Meetz staggers backwards, shaken. Smith throws a head kick that half lands.

Meetz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Meetz wants it to stay on the feet. Meetz tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Derick Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smith feints a jab promting Meetz to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Meetz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Smith avoids a kick to the body.
Meetz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith scores with a spinning back kick! Meetz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Beecher Meetz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Meetz swings and misses with a shot to the body and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Derick Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
