Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hazard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grzegorz Kiptyr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hazard comes to the cage accompanied by Cult of Personality. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ethan Hazard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grzegorz Kiptyr!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hazard rushes Kiptyr and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hazard scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Hazard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hazard is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kiptyr!

Hazard thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Hazard content just to control the position here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ethan Hazard.

Hazard closes the distance and clinches.
Hazard lands a left hand.
Kiptyr prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hazard has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Kiptyr is trying to keep an underhook but Hazard manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Kiptyr is looking to escape.
Hazard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hazard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kiptyr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ethan Hazard has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kiptyr is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hazard.

Hazard works the jab nicely.

Hazard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kiptyr sprawls well initially but Hazard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hazard works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hazard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hazard throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Hazard dominated that round.

Hazard drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kiptyr tries to escape but Hazard is in control.
Hazard throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Hazard is staying tight to Kiptyr's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Kiptyr stops Hazard from passing to mount.

Hazard tries for a kimura but Kiptyr is defending well.
The referee asks Hazard politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hazard prefers to stall for the moment though.

Hazard in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hazard takes a little break here. Kiptyr wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hazard throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hazard controls the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Ethan Hazard wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Hazard dives in and scores a takedown into Kiptyr's guard.
Hazard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hazard throwing strikes from guard but Kiptyr blocks nicely.

Hazard sitting in guard here, content to control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hazard in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hazard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ethan Hazard.
Kiptyr misses with a double jab.
Kiptyr falls off balance throwing a combination

and Hazard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hazard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kiptyr is looking to stand back up but Hazard counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kiptyr.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hazard not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hazard is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Hazard dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


A combination from Kiptyr does no damage.

Hazard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hazard is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kiptyr will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Hazard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kiptyr can do to turn this around?
Hazard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kiptyr for as long as he can get away with.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ethan Hazard just wasn't active enough.
Kiptyr moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Hazard counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kiptyr!

Hazard is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kiptyr has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kiptyr!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hazard pulls Kiptyr in close to prevent any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Hazard wriggles free and stands up.
Kiptyr misses with a combination

and Hazard counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Hazard is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hazard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kiptyr defends it well.

Hazard works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hazard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kiptyr avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hazard.
Ethan Hazard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hazard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ethan Hazard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hazard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
