Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter McCann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Sorrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sorrow has chosen Survivor - Burning Heart as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter McCann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitch Sorrow! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sorrow darts in trying to clinch and McCann counters with a low kick, right behind Sorrow 's knee. Sorrow looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! McCann rushes Sorrow and presses him up against the cage. McCann decides to pull guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Sorrow won't allow McCann to sweep him here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McCann is on top in guard.
McCann trying to control but Sorrow is working from the bottom. McCann is in close to Sorrow's body, working some short punches and elbows. McCann has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sorrow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCann wants to get up but he can't break Sorrow's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. McCann loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McCann is in close to Sorrow's body, working some short punches and elbows. McCann pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sorrow is keeping the position for now. McCann wants to control from the top but Sorrow keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McCann is really struggling to control Sorrow but he's trying to hold on to the position. McCann trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McCann stays in close to Sorrow's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Peter McCann wasn't doing enough on the ground. Nice takedown defense from Sorrow. No joy for McCann on that attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCann throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sorrow's waist but Sorrow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCann off to one side. Horrible takedown by McCann or perhaps it was just good defense by Sorrow which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter McCann. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCann throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Mitch Sorrow has been cut. McCann fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sorrow tries to clinch up but McCann circles away and keeps his distance. McCann shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sorrow defends it nicely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sorrow slaps away a takedown attempt from McCann, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCann misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McCann tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sorrow was well out of range. Poor timing from McCann. Sorrow looks for a takedown but McCann sprawls well. Sorrow keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. McCann closes the distance but Sorrow moves to the side and Sorrow counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for McCann! McCann tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sorrow looking to control but McCann is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCann throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McCann is squirming around, avoiding Sorrow's attempts to control the action. This has been an exciting period of action! McCann regains half guard. McCann is staying active underneath Sorrow, who seems content to just control the action from this position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McCann is controlling Sorrow's position as best he can from this difficult position. Sorrow is thwarting McCann's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter McCann dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mitch Sorrow's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
McCann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sorrow sprawls well initially but McCann persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McCann is looking to take a break and control but Sorrow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sorrow preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. McCann blocks the strikes from Sorrow.
McCann is pressing down on Sorrow's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sorrow is holding on for now. Sorrow is not content to let McCann control the position. Peter McCann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sorrow is breathing heavily. McCann controlling the action here.

Peter McCann has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. McCann swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice sprawl there from Sorrow as McCann shoots in. McCann moves into the clinch. McCann misses with a hook to the ribs.
Sorrow is trying to push McCann away but McCann has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Sorrow looking for a takedown. McCann gets a trip takedown into half guard. Sorrow wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCann controlling the action here. McCann prevents Sorrow from improving his position. McCann stalling. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. McCann trying to control from half guard but Sorrow is working away.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Peter McCann just wasn't active enough. Sorrow shoots in looking for a takedown but McCann manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sorrow's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCann looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. McCann has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter McCann. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCann gets a double leg takedown into Sorrow's guard. McCann throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McCann postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McCann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorrow swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCann would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCann wants to control from the top but Sorrow keeps moving.

McCann could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McCann.
Sorrow tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter McCann dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Mitch Sorrow's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
McCann goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McCann looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Sorrow looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McCann passes into half guard.
Sorrow is trying to stand back up but McCann is controlling him
McCann is pressing down on Sorrow's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sorrow is holding on for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McCann wants to take a breather but Sorrow is having none of it. McCann seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCann is keen to just control but Sorrow is a slippery customer. McCann is looking for a kimura but Sorrow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McCann to get the leverage. McCann is looking to stall here but Sorrow recovers full guard. Sorrow working a defensive guard here.
Sorrow wants to get back to his feet but McCann is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sorrow looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCann is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sorrow keeping moving, preventing McCann from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round. McCann shoots in looking for a takedown. Sorrow tries to sprawl out of it but McCann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sorrow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sorrow has a takedown stuffed. McCann moves into the clinch. McCann's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sorrow is defended easily by McCann. McCann dives in and grabs Sorrow's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sorrow pushes down on McCann's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter McCann. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sorrow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. McCann shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mitch Sorrow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sorrow fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Sorrow tries to pull guard but McCann won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McCann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Peter McCann is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McCann wants a takedown.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter McCann showed his dominance in that final round. Well McCann has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
