Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Penl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Reardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Penl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Reardon! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Penl.
Reardon lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Reardon swings for the body but Penl moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Penl looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from Penl misses. A jab from Penl does it's job there. Reardon throws an overhand right that lands on Penl's shoulder, as Penl tries to avoid the shot. Reardon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Penl circles away quickly and effectively. Reardon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Reardon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Reardon swinging wildly here.
Penl shoots in and gets a takedown into Reardon's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Reardon is controlling Penl's posture. Penl has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reardon is trying to keep Penl in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penl lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reardon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Penl does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Reardon drops Penl with a right and a left! Reardon comes rushing in but Penl regains his composure and manages to keep Reardon in guard.
It looks like Jason Penl has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reardon throws a big right hand that misses. Penl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hank Reardon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jason Penl's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Penl displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reardon throws out the jab. A momentary lapse in concentration from Penl enables Reardon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Penl manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Reardon controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Penl is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Penl is trying to keep his angry face on. Penl tries to move into range but Reardon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Reardon feints a jab promting Penl to slip. Reardon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Penl slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Reardon digs a good hook to Penl's body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reardon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight! Hank Reardon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Reardon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
