Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sho Kazuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bu Laia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazuki's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Effects of Hiroshima. Laia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hawaii '78 by Brudda Iz. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Sho Kazuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bu Laia! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kazuki goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Laia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kazuki moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kazuki misses with a low kick. Kazuki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kazuki throws a nice inside leg kick. Laia throws a leg kick that is checked and Kazuki counters with a straight right hand. Laia moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kazuki throws a hook but Laia avoids it easily. Kazuki avoids the head kick by Laia.
A jab from Kazuki misses. Laia checks a low kick from Kazuki. Laia looks to land a combination. Kazuki sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Laia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kazuki.

Kazuki lands a nice looking kick to the body. Laia takes a step back to recover. Laia connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kazuki's hands.

Laia throws a quick inside leg kick. Kazuki takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Laia misses with a low kick. Laia tries to land a leg kick but Kazuki saw it coming and moves away.
Kazuki throws a hook to the side of Laia's head but Laia sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kazuki just misses with a punch to the body.
Laia smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Kazuki misses with a leg kick. Kazuki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Laia. Kazuki takes a swing at Laia's ribcage but misses. Kazuki swings widly with a right hand
and Laia counters with a big head kick but Kazuki shrugs it off. Kazuki loads up on a big right hand but Laia slips the punch. Laia fails with a takedown attempt. A big left from Laia misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kazuki moves out of range of the leg kick from Laia. Laia throws a big shot that misses. Laia throws a lazy right hand but Kazuki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A leg kick checked by Laia. Kazuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Laia was well out of range. Poor timing from Kazuki. Laia shoots for a takedown but Kazuki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A solid leg kick lands there for Laia.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Laia throws a shot to the body.
Laia fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kazuki checks it well. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kazuki. Some bone on bone action there as Laia checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Kazuki blocks the body kick.
Laia wants to slow Kazuki down by chopping away at his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kazuki manages to avoid it. Laia lands a leg kick that knocks Kazuki off balance momentarily. Kazuki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Laia, pushing him back against the cage. Laia tries to work over Kazuki's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Kazuki works on Laia's body with a couple of short punches. Laia is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kazuki throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Laias head. Kazuki lands on the inside with an uppercut. Laia trying to control the position but instead, Kazuki has worked for underhooks and has pushed Laia into the cage. Laia throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kazuki blocks it with crossed arms. Kazuki throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Laias head. A short right from Kazuki. Laia is working for takedown but Kazuki is calmly controlling the position for now. Sho Kazuki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bu Laia.

It looks like Bu Laia has been cut. Laia tries a body shot but Kazuki blocks it.

Laia tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kazuki's elbow. Kazuki digs a right hand underneath Laia's ribcage. Laia let out a lung full of air as it connected. Laia throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kazukis head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kazuki lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Laia makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Laia looking to stall.
Laia prevents a body shot from Kazuki. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sho Kazuki will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bu Laia's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Laia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kazuki. Laia is looking to chop away at Kazuki's legs. Laia tries a head kick but it misses.
Kazuki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Laia showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kazuki.

Laia pushes Kazuki against the cage but Kazuki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bu Laia seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kazuki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Laia checks it well. Kazuki lands a leg kick that knocks Laia off balance momentarily. A low kick from Laia is predictable there and Kazuki counters with an outside leg kick.
Laia tries to score with a low kick but Kazuki moves his leg out of the way. Laia closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kazuki quickly recovers to half guard. Laia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kazuki has managed to free his arm - good work. Laia is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kazuki's head. Kazuki is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Laia missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Laia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kazuki has managed to free his arm - good work. Laia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kazuki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sho Kazuki will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bu Laia's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Kazuki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Laia throws a low kick but Kazuki avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laia with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kazuki to score with a decent uppercut. Kazuki slips a straight right by Laia. Kazuki blocks a leg kick. Kazuki checks a leg kick. Laia throws a right and a left that Kazuki avoids nicely. Kazuki throws an overhand right that lands on Laia's shoulder, as Laia tries to avoid the shot. Kazuki fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Laia chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kazuki can pounce on him.

That sent Laia stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Kazuki attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Laia tried to score with a low kick but Kazuki checks it. Kazuki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Laia moves away. Laia gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Laia tries to score with a low kick but Kazuki moves his leg out of the way.

and Kazuki counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kazuki cracks Laia with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Laia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kazuki lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Kazuki has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Laia. Kazuki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Laia swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kazuki scores with a leg kick.
Sho Kazuki is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kazuki scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Kazuki throws a right and a left that both miss. Kazuki scores with a leg kick.
Laia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kazuki displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kazuki jabs Laia to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kazuki throws a good cross that connects.

Laia throws a leg kick but Kazuki moved away.
And that's the end of the fight! Sho Kazuki showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kazuki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Sho Kazuki! Sho Kazuki decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
