Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Casey Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Joe off to one side.
Jones misses with a body kick.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Joe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Joe wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Joe wants to get back to his feet.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Joe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Joe is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Joe avoid being mounted?
Joe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Joe.
Jones tries to stand but Joe is controlling from the bottom.
Joe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joe tries to get out of the position.

Joe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

Joe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Joe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones wants to sweep here but Joe controlling him for the moment.

Jones is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Joe drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Joe off! Joe jumps back into Jones's guard.

Jones is trying to control Joe's posture but Joe avoids it.

Joe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Joe's best efforts.

Joe is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.

Joe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up.
Joe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Joe wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones looks gassed!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jones counters with a big head kick but Joe shrugs it off.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Joe tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Joe to the ground. Joe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Casey Jones will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Joe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Joe was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
Joe is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Joe looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Joe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Joe's legs - danger averted.
Jones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Joe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Joe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Joe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones is trying to control the position but Joe postures up.
Joe trying to move into half guard but instead Jones has managed to sweep!
Jones distracts Joe with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jones gets to his feet. Joe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Joe in a clinch.

Joe jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Joe does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are battling for position here. Joe manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jones's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Joe has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joe is keeping the position for now.
Casey Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Joe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jones works his foot free and advances to mount.

Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jones controlling the pace for now.

Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Joe is having none of it.
Joe is looking to get to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Casey Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Jones is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Jones is looking to advance position but Joe won't allow it.

Jones tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Joe.

Joe wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
