The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gives drives through with a takedown into Abdel Salam's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Gives decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ryan Gives hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gives shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abdel Salam sprawls well. Abdel Salam wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gives gets slowly back to his feet.

Gives fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Abdel Salam avoids it really well and circles away.

Gives looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gives dives in and grabs Abdel Salam's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abdel Salam pushes down on Gives's head and hops out.
Gives misses with a takedown attempt - Abdel Salam sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Abdel Salam scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Gives shoots for a double leg takedown but Abdel Salam sprawls well. He's pushed Gives's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Abdel Salam lands a left and a right that send Gives crashing to the mat, dazed. Abdel Salam thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gives is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gives switches off momentarily and Abdel Salam cracks him with a monster right hand! Gives topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Abdel Salam dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Abdel Salam!
