The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Block with that takedown attempt.
Block shoots in for a double leg but Liddell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Liddell throws a one two combo.

It looks like Christian Block has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Block or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddell which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christian Block. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Liddell lands with an overhand left.
Block fails to land the takedown.
Liddell throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A head kick misses from Liddell.
Liddell lands with a thumping leg kick.
Block dives in and grabs Liddell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liddell pushes down on Block's head and hops out.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Liddell.
Block is breathing heavily.
Liddell throws a leg kick which misses Block's front leg but catches the back leg as Block tries to avoid it.

The fighters circle, before Liddell throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Block's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Liddell lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
