The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shines gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nerd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nerd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shines is controlling him.
Nerd has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Nerd looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nerd wants to sweep but no luck.

Nerd is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nerd passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shines!
Nerd breaks from Shines's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Shines is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Nerd locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Shines is forced to tap!
