Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Tahvo Aijala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aijala throws a looping overhand right but Kowalski ducks down to avoid it.
Aijala pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Good exchange - Aijala coming out on top.
Kowalski ducks straight into an uppercut from Aijala and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Kowalski manages to regain guard straight away.
It looks like Jan Kowalski has been cut.
Aijala will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aijala is posturing up here but Kowalski has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Aijala tries to roll out but it's too tight and Aijala has to tap! Slick submission there by Kowalski!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jan Kowalski!
After winning the bout, Jan Kowalski thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
