PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dzelaludin Smajlovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bader has chosen Imperial March (Rage Remix) as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bader connects with a single shot there.
Good exchange - Bader coming out on top.
Bader waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smajlovic.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Smajlovic changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bader looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smajlovic tries to score with some ground and pound. Bader controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Smajlovic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bader, who protects the arm well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bader can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smajlovic pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Smajlovic is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bader can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The referee warns Bader that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bader connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smajlovic's hands.

Bader lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smajlovic circles away quickly and effectively.
Ryan Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bader lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Smajlovic closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


Smajlovic is rocked!
Bader throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Smajlovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bader connects with a stiff jab that staggers Smajlovic - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ryan Bader!
