Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ed Rosenthal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gerald Kiriaki! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kiriaki misses with a lunging right hand
and Rosenthal counters with a right hand to the body. Kiriaki avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rosenthal throws a good cross that connects.
Rosenthal scores with a decent looking hook. Kiriaki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rosenthal.
Rosenthal works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kiriaki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rosenthal but Rosenthal pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kiriaki has momentary wrist control but Rosenthal slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kiriaki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Rosenthal trying to control the position from guard on top but Kiriaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kiriaki controls Rosenthal momentarily but Rosenthal frees himself. Rosenthal wants to control from the top but Kiriaki keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kiriaki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rosenthal moves away. Rosenthal swings for the body but Kiriaki moves out of range.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Kiriaki throws a sloppy head kick and Rosenthal moves out of range easily. Rosenthal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kiriaki swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rosenthal throws a body punch but Kiriaki moves out of range. Kiriaki slips under a jab from Rosenthal. Kiriaki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kiriaki misses with a body punch
and Rosenthal counters with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kiriaki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

He's got his arms around Rosenthal's waist but Rosenthal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kiriaki off to one side. Kiriaki throws a sloppy head kick and Rosenthal moves out of range easily. Kiriaki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
