Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Conrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Gotts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gotts has chosen Godfather Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Conrad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Gotts!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotts circles away from the clinch attempt.
Conrad fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gotts misses with a wild body shot.
Gotts scores with a decent looking hook.
Conrad tries to close the distance and clinch but Gotts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Conrad fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A big left from Gotts misses.
Gotts misses with a jab to the body
and Conrad counters with a two punch combo.
Conrad scores with a nice strike.
Conrad throws a head kick but Gotts moves out of range.
Conrad wants to clinch.
Conrad defending well as Gotts loads up on a big left hand.
Conrad tries to land a front kick but Gotts steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Conrad throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gotts's waist but Gotts gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Conrad off to one side.
Conrad fails to land with a series of punches.
Gotts displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Conrad.

Gotts changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gotts lands a jab to the nose.
Gotts scores with a hook to the body. Conrad takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Conrad keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Conrad catches Gotts with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gotts swings for the body but Conrad moves out of range.

and Gotts counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gotts swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Conrad or perhaps it was just good defense by Gotts which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Conrad. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gotts uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Conrad has time to react.
Gotts is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Conrad rather than just go for the knockout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stu Gotts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conrad tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gotts paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Gotts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Conrad.
Conrad shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gotts as he jumps to the side.

Gotts checks the leg kick nicely there.
Stu Gotts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Conrad moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gotts keeps the fight on the outside.
Gotts cracks Conrad with a good jab.
Conrad shoots in looking for a takedown but Gotts manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Conrad's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Conrad fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gotts avoids it really well and circles away.
Conrad is breathing heavily.
Gotts just misses with a punch to the body.
Gotts throws a sloppy body shot

and Conrad counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Conrad slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conrad would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Conrad trying to control but Gotts is working from the bottom.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lucas Conrad has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Conrad closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gotts circles away.
Gotts stuffs the takedown attempt from Conrad. Conrad gets slowly back to his feet.
Gotts thows a left - swing and a miss!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gotts fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gotts scores with a jab to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Conrad will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gotts lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Conrad doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Stu Gotts seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gotts fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gotts scores with a shot to the body.
Conrad on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Conrad looks for a takedown but Gotts sprawls well.
Gotts misses with a wild body shot.
Conrad tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gotts sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Conrad somewhat.
Conrad tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gotts manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Conrad throws a push kick but Gotts slaps the foot to one side.
Gotts scores with a hook to the body. Conrad takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Conrad takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gotts is breathing heavily.
Gotts ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gotts, as that shot connected.
Lucas Conrad is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gotts connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Conrad momentarily.
Conrad motions for Gotts to come forward. Conrad throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Conrad slips a jab from Gotts.
Gotts avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gotts walks forward, straight into a front kick from Conrad.
Gotts takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Gotts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gotts throws a shot from downtown. Conrad moves away and avoids it.
Conrad throws a right and a left that Gotts avoids nicely.
Gotts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gotts dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gotts pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Conrad gets a clinch.
Gotts keeps control of Conrad as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Conrad wants to get back to striking at distance but Gotts won't allow it.

Conrad takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Conrad loads up on a big right hand but Gotts slips the punch.
Conrad changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gotts tries to avoid it but Conrad manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gotts to the ground. Gotts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gotts stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gotts keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gotts connects with a good right hand that stumbles Conrad. Conrad circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gotts throws the left hand but Conrad avoids the punch easily.
Gotts keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Conrad wants to clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gotts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gotts waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Conrad.
Gotts comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stu Gotts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gotts is looking to improve his position but Conrad isn't that keen on the idea.

Gotts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Conrad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Conrad lands a nice shot to the head.

Gotts is trying desperately to improve position.
Conrad unloads with some shots from mount but Gotts bucks and avoids them well.
Gotts tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Conrad controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Conrad is working for a guillotine from mount but Gotts frees his head quite easily.
Conrad takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Conrad thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lucas Conrad.
I think Conrad has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
