And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Koey Nagata!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fails to land the takedown.
Miller avoids a punch combination nicely.
Some wild striking there from Nagata.
Nice takedown defense from Nagata. No joy for Miller on that attempt.
Nagata lands a left and a right that sends Miller crashing to the canvas! Nagata dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Justin Miller has been cut.
Miller tries to lock up and control but Nagata gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Oh Miller is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Miller seems to have got his legs back now.
Miller's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Nagata tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A jab-cross combination lands for Nagata and sends Miller crashing to the mat! Nagata follows him down to the mat - Miller regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Miller had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nagata is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Miller Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nagata's back instead.
Even with his hooks in, Miller manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Jose Koey Nagata showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
