Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Whittaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Anselmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phil Anselmo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Whittaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Anselmo! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Whittaker as Anselmo shoots in. Anselmo throws a series of punches but Whittaker avoids them all with ease. Whittaker looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Whittaker stands up from Anselmo's guard - Whittaker perhaps looking for a knockout. Gary Whittaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Whittaker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Whittaker tries to advance to mount but Anselmo denies him. Anselmo gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Whittaker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Anselmo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Anselmo is looking for a sweep. Whittaker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Anselmo throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Anselmo is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whittaker stands up from half guard. Anselmo looks gassed! Whittaker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anselmo's guard. Whittaker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Anselmo fails with the takedown and Whittaker moves into the clinch. Anselmo trying to stall but Whittaker improves his position.
Whittaker lands an elbow that stopped Anselmo in his tracks for a moment. Whittaker could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Whittaker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Anselmo up against the cage. Whittaker lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Whittaker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Anselmo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Whittaker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Gary Whittaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Anselmo. A hook to the body from Whittaker.
Anselmo misses with a knee to the head. Anselmo manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anselmo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Anselmo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Whittaker is rocked! Anselmo forces his way into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Anselmo passes to side control. Anselmo landing strikes. Anselmo scores with a couple of short elbows. Anselmo scoring with punches and elbows. Oh Whittaker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Whittaker throws Anselmo to one side and escapes! Whittaker seems to have got his legs back now. Anselmo lands a brutal head kick. Whittaker looks out on his feet and Anselmo throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Phil Anselmo!
