Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philadelphia Roll! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Griffin! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roll rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Griffin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roll thows a body shot but no joy. Griffin stalks Roll and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Roll's face. Roll staggers backwards, shaken. Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
Roll throws a head kick but Griffin moves out of range.
Griffin jabs Roll right on the nose. Roll blinks but takes it well. Griffin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Roll stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Roll misses with a head kick.

and Griffin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roll's guard. Griffin pushing down on Roll's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Griffin is trying to control the action in half guard but Roll is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Griffin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Roll defends it well. Griffin passes to side control. Griffin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Griffin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Griffin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Roll is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin working the ground and pound. Check out the look on Griffin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Roll prevents Griffin from improving position. Griffin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roll keeps working. Griffin tries for a kimura but Roll is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Roll works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Griffin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Roll is controlling Griffin's position as best he can from this difficult position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Griffin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Griffin stops Roll from getting back to his feet.
Griffin trying to control the pace. Griffin lands strikes from half guard. Griffin decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Griffin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Griffin throws a jab but it's blocked by Roll. Griffin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Griffin dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

enabling Griffin to counter with a crisp jab. Griffin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Roll backs up against the cage.
Roll misses with a double jab.
Roll lands a head kick. Griffin smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Roll buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A shot to the body from Roll misses and Griffin counters with a right hand to the body. Roll looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Griffin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Griffin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Griffin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin closes the distance and lands a one-two. Griffin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Roll throws a sloppy head kick and Griffin moves out of range easily. Roll lands a high kick!
Griffin swings and misses with a shot to the body and Roll counters with an outside leg kick.

Griffin lands with a right hand. A big right from Roll misses. Roll is looking to wear down Griffin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Griffin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Philadelphia Roll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Roll is rocked! Griffin lands with a big left! Roll is wobbled badly! Griffin comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Roll to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Chris Griffin!
