Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sun Ra! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson connects with a leg kick. Ra looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. That kick from Ra tenderised Nelson's leg. Nelson is trying to keep his angry face on. Ra throws a head kick that misses. A chopping leg kick lands by Nelson. Nelson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Ra is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nelson. Nelson misses the shot to the body. Nelson lands with a nice body punch. Nelson looks to score with a jab to the body but Ra is just out of range. Nelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ra but Ra pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ra throws a head kick that Nelson semi-blocks.
Nelson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ra manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson looks to score with a jab to the body but Ra is just out of range. Ra pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nelson throws a low kick but Ra moves out of range easily. Ra connects with a nice looking jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ra checks a leg kick. A jab from Ra misses. Ra throws an off balance right hand
and Nelson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ra moves in looking to clinch but Nelson pushes him off. Ra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nelson circles away quickly and effectively. Nelson is looking to wear down Ra with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Ra takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ra lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ra looks to land a left hand but Nelson moved out of range nicely. Ra ducks under a wild hook from Nelson. Nelson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ra was well out of range. Poor timing from Nelson. Ra looks to land a right hand but Nelson moved out of range. Jab, jab by Nelson - just one landing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Danga de danga de dang - Ra scores with a four punch combination! Ra lands with a hook. Nelson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Nelson misses with an uppercut. Ra saw that one coming. A telegraphed right hand from Nelson misses the target. Nelson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ra.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson just misses with a punch to the body.
Ra lands with a good body shot. Nelson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ra throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ra throws a right and a left that Nelson avoids nicely. Horrible takedown by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Ra which made him look bad. Ra keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ra misses with a straight left. Nelson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nelson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ra scores with the left hand. Nelson knows he should have avoided that one. Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ra gets a clinch. Ra throws an elbow but it misses.

Ra misses with a knee strike.
Ra lands an elbow inside that Nelson shrugs off. Nelson tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nelson blocks an elbow strike. Ra looking to throw knees to the head but Nelson is blocking nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A short right hand to the side of the head by Ra. Nelson blocks the elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sun Ra dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nelson just misses with a punch to the body.
Ra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nelson.
Ra might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ra sprawls well. He's pushed Nelson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sun Ra seems to be getting the better of the standup. A big right from Nelson misses. Nelson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ra sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Nelson wants to take a breather but Ra is having none of it. Ra works his way to full guard. Good work. Ra doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Nelson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ra preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ra looking for a sweep. Not yet Ra, not yet. Nelson throws an elbow that misses. Ra uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nelson's guard. Nice move by Ra! Nelson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ra wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sun Ra wasn't active enough on the ground. Ra avoids the body shot from Nelson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Ra pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ra moves away. Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ra moves away. Nelson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ra dips to his left and cracks Nelson with an uppercut! Ra slips under a jab from Nelson. Nelson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sun Ra is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nelson slips under a jab. Ra misses with a hook. Nelson ducked under it nicely. Nelson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ra. Ra fails to land with a series of punches.

Jake Nelson dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Nelson lands with a right hand. Ra misses with an uppercut. Nelson saw that one coming. Ra throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ra lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Nelson throws a jab but it's blocked by Ra. Ra's corner calls for a 1-2. Ra obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Nelson throws a hook but Ra blocks it. Nelson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nelson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Ra leaves Nelson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ra scores with the left hand. Nelson knows he should have avoided that one.

Donk. Ra catches Nelson right on the button with a cross. Nelson wants to land a leg kick but Ra is out of range. Nelson connects with an inside leg kick. Ra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nelson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice shot lands for Ra. Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ra moves away. Ra throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nelson on the side of the head. Ra fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nelson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ra misses with a looping right. Nelson slips under a jab from Ra. A telegraphed right hand from Ra misses the target. Nelson throws a leg kick but Ra moved away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ra is fending him off so far but Nelson persists. Nope, Ra circles away and we're back to standing. Nelson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ra to score with a decent uppercut. Nelson lands a jab to the head.
Nelson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nelson thuds his right hand into Ra's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ra missing with a left hand there. Nelson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ra connects with a body shot. Nelson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ra sees it coming and avoids it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson misses with a low kick. Nelson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
And that's the end of the fight! Sun Ra comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ra has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
