Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hatfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Blues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blues has chosen Soul Man as his entrance music. Matt Hatfield has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatfield rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Blues counters with a takedown into side control. Blues sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hatfield is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hatfield takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Matt Hatfield has been cut. Hatfield parries the strikes from Blues easily there. Blues is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hatfield to escape.
Blues misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hatfield tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blues wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. An elbow from Blues crashes against the mat.
Blues is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hatfield is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blues trying to control the position but Hatfield is working away. The ground and pound from Blues seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Blues in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Blues throws an elbow but Hatfield slips to the side and avoids it well. Blues landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blues throwing shots but missing, from side control. Hatfield on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hatfield tries to get out of the position. Hatfield can't do much from the bottom here. Blues decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hatfield to his feet. Blues with a lazy takedown attempt and Hatfield counters with a three punch combo that has Blues backing up. Blues nods at Hatfield to acknowledge the strikes. Hatfield waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Blues. Hatfield throws a shot from downtown. Blues moves away and avoids it. Blues shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hatfield but Hatfield pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hatfield misses with a straight right. Hatfield misses with a straight left. Hatfield throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hatfield loads up on a big right hand but Blues slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blues shoots in for a takedown but Hatfield shows good takedown defense. Matt Hatfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Blues. Hatfield throws a right and a left that Blues avoids nicely. Hatfield looks to land a left hand but Blues moved out of range nicely. Blues uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hatfield. Blues looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hatfield is fending him off so far but Blues persists. Nope, Hatfield circles away and we're back to standing. Hatfield thuds his right hand into Blues's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Hatfield stuffs the takedown attempt from Blues. Blues gets slowly back to his feet. Blues throws a leg kick but Hatfield moved away. Hatfield fails to land with a series of punches.
Matt Hatfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Hatfield misses its intended target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Blues or perhaps it was just good defense by Hatfield which made him look bad. Hatfield throws a poor cross that misses
and Blues counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hatfield! Blues throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Hatfield is squirming around, avoiding Blues's attempts to control the action. Blues throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Hatfield might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Blues connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Matt Hatfield's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Matt Hatfield's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jake Blues! Jake Blues decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
