Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Domenic Amato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amato comes to the cage accompanied by Gonna Fly Now. Manres has chosen Aqualung - Jethro Tull as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Domenic Amato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ludwig Manres!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amato cracks Manres with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Domenic Amato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Manres has a takedown stuffed.
Amato misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Amato moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Manres checks a leg kick nicely.
Manres fails with a takedown attempt.

Amato shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Manres's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Amato wants to pass the guard but Manres is keeping the position.
Manres pulls Amato in close to prevent any damage.

Manres is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Manres is looking to advance position but Amato won't allow it.
Amato is holding on to half guard well.
Manres looks to land a strike but Amato avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Manres wants to pass the guard but Amato is keeping the position.
Amato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Amato looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Manres puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Manres throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Manres has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manres trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Amato is desperately trying to improve his position but Manres has a good base and remains in mount.

Manres postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Amato looks a forlorn figure.
Manres can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Amato is looking to escape.

Manres breaks from Amato's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Amato bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Manres had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Amato defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Amato seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Amato wants to control but Manres is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Domenic Amato will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Manres shoots in for a takedown but Amato shows good takedown defense.

and Amato counters with a head kick. That will keep Manres thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Manres shoots in but no luck this time.
Domenic Amato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ludwig Manres.
Manres moves out of range of the strikes.
Amato throws a body punch but Manres moves out of range.
Amato connects with a right hand. Manres shakes it off.
Amato takes a swing at Manres's ribcage but misses.
Ludwig Manres is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Amato waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Manres.
Manres walks into a left hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Manres fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Amato cracks Manres on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Manres falls backwards against the cage. Amato follows up with more strikes that drop Manres to his knees. Amato keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Manres! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Domenic Amato!
A relieved looking Domenic Amato thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
