Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Stackhouse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Randels! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stackhouse misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Randels shoots in for a double leg but Stackhouse sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Stackhouse is trying hard to land a takedown here. Randels sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Stackhouse gets a takedown into half guard. Randels is looking to escape. Stackhouse trying to control from half guard but Randels is working away. Stackhouse controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Randels has his hands clasped together around Stackhouse's back. He's all about the action. Randels is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We're going to have a standup here because Rick Stackhouse wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nice takedown defense from Stackhouse. No joy for Randels on that attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Stackhouse. Tom Randels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stackhouse defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randels. Rick Stackhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Randels. Randels fails with the takedown. Stackhouse shoots for a double leg takedown but Randels sprawls well. He's pushed Stackhouse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stackhouse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Randels but Randels pushes him off and we're back to square one. Randels rushes Stackhouse and presses him up against the cage. Randels blocks an uppercut.

Randels pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Randels lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Randels scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Stackhouse could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Randels in side control, throwing shots but Stackhouse defends. Stackhouse is breathing heavily. Randels lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Stackhouse down.
Randels thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Stackhouse struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Randels seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Stackhouse gets back to half guard. Randels is thwarting Stackhouse's attempts to control the position. Randels is trying to work for a kimura but Stackhouse is defending well.
Randels is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Stackhouse is refusing to be controlled, as Randels sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Randels seems to be working for a kimura but Stackhouse defends the submission attempt. Randels prevents Stackhouse from improving his position. Randels tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Stackhouse. Randels is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stackhouse has managed to free his arm - good work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stackhouse flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Tom Randels dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Stackhouse shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Randels defends it nicely. Stackhouse tries to clinch but fails miserably and Randels counters with a slapping leg kick. Randels fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Stackhouse fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Randels shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Randels showed some decent athleticism there. Randels is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stackhouse sees it coming and defends easily. Randels winds up and cracks Stackhouse with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Stackhouse trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Stackhouse tries to hold on but Randels postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Randels is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Stackhouse to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stackhouse shrugs it off. Randels looking for a guillotine from mount but Stackhouse is having none of it. Stackhouse wants to hold on but Randels pushes him away. Stackhouse manages to regain half guard. Good work. Randels not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Randels. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Randels is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stackhouse tries to roll over but Randels keeps him under control. Tom Randels has got the better of the ground game so far. Randels is trying to control. Stackhouse wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Stackhouse avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Randels. Randels throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Stackhouse to regain full guard. Stackhouse is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Randels pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stackhouse is keeping the position for now. Stackhouse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stackhouse controlling his opponent. Stackhouse prevents Randels from getting the reversal. Randels trying desperately to get to his feet.
Randels throwing hammer fists to the chest of Stackhouse. What's that going to do exactly? Randels tries to hold on but Stackhouse pushes him away. Randels flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Randels is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stackhouse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Randels is looking to escape. Randels is in all sorts of trouble here.

Tom Randels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Randels checks the leg kick. Stackhouse is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Randels shoots for a double leg takedown but Stackhouse sprawls well. He's pushed Randels's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Randels shoots in but no luck this time. Randels gets in close and instigates a clinch. Still in the clinch, Stackhouse scores with a nice short uppercut. Randels drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stackhouse gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rick Stackhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Randels. Stackhouse is pressed up against the cage. Randels has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stackhouse down to the mat. Stackhouse avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Randels takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Stackhouse dives in and grabs Randels's left leg, looking for a takedown. Randels pushes down on Stackhouse's head and hops out. Randels is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stackhouse sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Stackhouse closes the distance and clinches up with Randels, looking for a takedown. Stackhouse pushes Randels against the cage but Randels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Stackhouse with that takedown attempt. Stackhouse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Randels wants to get back to full guard. Randels throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Stackhouse looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Randels wants to control but Stackhouse is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rick Stackhouse just wasn't active enough. Randels tries to clinch but Stackhouse is having none of it. Stackhouse closes the distance and clinches. Randels with a knee to the head.
Still in the clinch, Stackhouse scores with a nice short uppercut. Stackhouse tries to pull guard but Randels forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Randels is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Randels jumps guard but Stackhouse turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Stackhouse looking for a takedown. Randels jumps into guard, dragging Stackhouse to the mat.
Randels had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stackhouse defends it easily. Randels looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Stackhouse passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Randels flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stackhouse lands a nice short elbow. Randels wants to control the action here but instead Stackhouse manages to pass to full mount! Randels is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Stackhouse wants to control the pace but Randels is squirming around nicely. Stackhouse sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Tom Randels is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Randels is looking to get to half guard. Rick Stackhouse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stackhouse has hold of Randels's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Randels manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that's the end of the fight! Rick Stackhouse showed his dominance in that final round. Well Randels has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
