The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
St Pierre misses with an uppercut. Peterson saw that one coming.
St Pierre throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and St Pierre counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
St Pierre looks to score with a jab to the body but Peterson is just out of range.
St Pierre throws a low kick but it's checked well by Peterson.
St Pierre misses with a low kick.
Peterson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as St Pierre sprawls well. St Pierre wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peterson gets slowly back to his feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sam Peterson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

St Pierre on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if St Pierre tries to get out of the position.
Peterson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sam Peterson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Peterson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling St Pierre to score with a decent uppercut.
