Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Flay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flay's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, .. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bobby Flay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kurt Meyer! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flay moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Flay swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Flay looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Flay connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Meyer momentarily.
A head kick misses from Meyer. Meyer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Flay. Flay takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nice jab there from Meyer. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meyer tries a head kick but it misses.
Meyer looks to score with a jab to the body but Flay is just out of range. Meyer has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Flay. Flay does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Flay slips under a jab from Meyer. Some bone on bone action there as Meyer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Flay throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Meyer. Meyer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Flay.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flay dives in and grabs Meyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes down on Flay's head and hops out. Bobby Flay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meyer attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Meyer avoids the head kick by Flay.
Meyer blocks a leg kick. A left lands for Flay. Meyer looks to land a right hand but Flay moved out of range. Meyer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Flay can pounce on him.

Flay defending well as Meyer loads up on a big left hand. Meyer throws a jab but it's blocked by Flay. Good exchange - Meyer coming out on top. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meyer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Flay moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Meyer takes a body punch but keeps moving. Flay fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Meyer manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meyer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Flay with a nice cross. Meyer misses with a lunging right hand
and Flay counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Flay looks to score with a jab to the body but Meyer is just out of range. Flay blocks a jab. Flay drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Meyer misses with a head kick.
Meyer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Flay counters with a good low kick that Meyer was not able to check. Meyer looks gassed! Nice body kick there by Flay. Meyer blocks a head kick by Flay.
Flay works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. A swing and a miss from Meyer. Flay lands a leg kick that knocks Meyer off balance momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Flay. Flay scores with a kick to the midsection. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Flay - that will leave a mark!

Flay lands a leg kick that knocks Meyer off balance momentarily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flay lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Meyer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Flay lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Flay is looking to wear down Meyer with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Flay scores with a jab to the body. Meyer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Flay lands a leg kick that knocks Meyer off balance momentarily. Meyer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Flay tries for a takedown but Meyer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Flay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meyer takes one to the side of the head.

Flay changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Flay connects with an inside leg kick. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Flay - that will leave a mark!
Flay lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Meyer's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Flay connects with a body shot. Meyer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Flay stuns Meyer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Nice shot by Flay. Meyer avoids the head kick by Flay.
Meyer misses with a leg kick and Flay counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Flay feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Meyer's calf. Flay throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Flay works the jab nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Flay dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Meyer might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Flay has got the better of the exchanges. Nice straight punches there by Flay. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Flay.
It looks like Kurt Meyer has been cut. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Flay. Meyer shrugs it off though. A momentary lapse in concentration from Meyer enables Flay to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Meyer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Flay sitting in guard here, content to control. Meyer is looking to stand up but Flay isn't so interested in that idea. Meyer being controlled here, momentarily. Flay has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Flay distracts Meyer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Meyer is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flay works a leg free and moves into half guard. Flay slips a nice elbow through Meyer's hands, connecting with Meyer's forehead. Flay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flay winds up and cracks Meyer with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Flay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Flay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Meyer's head. Meyer taking some punishment here, with Flay in his half guard. Nice strikes from Flay there. Flay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Meyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Flay trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Meyer throws an off balance right hand
and Meyer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Meyer jabbing away but nothing is landing. Flay throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Flay here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Flay cracks Meyer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. That kick from Flay tenderised Meyer's leg. Meyer is trying to keep his angry face on. Flay closes the distance and clinches up with Meyer, looking for a takedown. Flay pushes Meyer against the cage but Meyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Flay scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Flay keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Flay darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flay looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Meyer is fending him off so far but Flay persists. Nope, Meyer circles away and we're back to standing. Flay drives through with a takedown into Meyer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Flay looking to pass the guard. Meyer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Flay throws a strike but Meyer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Flay is trying to keep Meyer in close.

Meyer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Flay has time to react. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Flay. Flay throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Meyer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Flay is in Meyer's guard. Flay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Flay throws a big right hand that misses. Flay wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving. Meyer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Flay is looking for a sweep. Meyer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Flay manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Meyer preventing the sweep. Bobby Flay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Flay is trying to keep Meyer in close.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Flay is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Flay manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meyer manages to get himself to full guard.

Meyer is controlling Flay's posture. Flay with a flurry of punches that miss. Flay throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Meyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Flay stopping the sweep attempt from Meyer. Meyer keeping moving, preventing Flay from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Meyer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that's the end of the fight! Bobby Flay showed his dominance in that final round. Well Flay has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
