Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes to the cage accompanied by Ready 4 War. Genghis Khan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genghis Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alex Cole!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan drops Cole with a left and a right! Oh, Cole is hurt - Khan dives into side control looking to finish!


Cole is rocked!


It looks like Alex Cole has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Khan tries to score with some ground and pound. Cole controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Cole is still in real trouble! Can Khan finish him?
Khan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cole is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Khan tries to move to mount but Cole blocks the move with his legs.

Khan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cole is letting Khan control him for a moment.
Cole seems to have recovered his senses.
Khan trying to control the action but Cole is working from the bottom.
Khan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cole is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cole takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Cole is not content to let Khan control the position.

Khan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cole managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Khan.
Khan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cole keeps working.
Cole wants to control but Khan postures up.

Cole is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A control attempt from Cole but he's now mounted!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Khan lands with some strikes.


That has opened up Alex Cole's cut even more.
Khan throwing strikes but Cole uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Cole looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole is trying to maintain the position but Khan is very close to passing his half guard.
Khan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Khan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cole sees it coming and defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khan misses with a head shot. Cole uses the momentum to regain guard.
Khan wants to control from the top but Cole keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Khan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Khan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Genghis Khan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alex Cole's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Khan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Cole looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Khan!

Khan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Cole tries to control but Khan wriggling away.

Khan avoids a strike by Cole and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Cole's guard! Fantastic escape!

Cole being controlled here, momentarily.
Khan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Khan wants to control from the top but Cole keeps moving.
Genghis Khan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Khan looking to sit in guard and control but Cole gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cole throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Khan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Cole stands up and waves to Khan to follow him.
Cole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cole ducks under a wild hook from Khan.
Khan throws a lazy uppercut

and Cole counters with a shoot takedown. Khan fights it but they end up in guard.
Cole trying to control but Khan is working from the bottom.
Khan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cole pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Khan is keeping the position for now.
Khan is trying to keep Cole in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cole loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cole trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Khan manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Khan throws a strike but Cole rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Cole showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Khan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cole counters with a shoot takedown. Khan fights it but they end up in guard.
Cole throwing strikes from guard but Khan blocks nicely.
Cole sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Khan's guard.
Khan is staying active underneath Cole, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cole is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cole scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Cole is looking for a kimura here.
Cole throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Khan wants to get back to full guard.
Cole is trying to control. Khan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cole is working for a kimura but Khan is defending it quite comfortably.
Khan manages to get to full guard.
Cole tries to free his leg and advance position but Khan is retaining full guard.
Cole loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Khan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Khan controls Cole momentarily but Cole frees himself.
Cole with a flurry of punches that miss.

Cole stands and steps away. Khan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Khan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cole counters with a straight right hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Khan misses with a low kick as Cole jumps back.
Cole fails with the takedown.
Cole shoots in looking for a takedown. Khan tries to sprawl out of it but Cole keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Khan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cole shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Khan counters with a stiff right hand.
Genghis Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Cole.
Khan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cole avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Khan throws a series of punches but Cole moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Khan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan misses with the combination.
Khan misses with an uppercut
and Cole counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Cole shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alex Cole comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cole has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
