Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Deftones - Beware. James Tony has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mickey Davis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mickey Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Tony!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tony tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Davis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tony blocks a jab.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tony circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice body kick there by Davis.
Tony checks a leg kick.
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Tony tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A swing and a miss from Tony.
Davis throws a leg kick but Tony moved away.
Davis turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fighters circling - Davis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tony tries to clinch up
and Davis counters with a straight right hand.
Tony walks forward, straight into a front kick from Davis.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tony throws a looping overhand right but Davis ducks down to avoid it.
Davis throws a head kick that Tony semi-blocks.

Davis lands with an uppercut that bounces Tony off the cage and back into range.
Davis scores with a jab. Tony acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Davis slips a straight right by Tony.
Tony throws a sloppy head kick

and Davis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tony looks gassed!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Davis slips nicely into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Davis passes to side control.
Davis wants to take a breather but Tony manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Davis.

Tony is squirming around, avoiding Davis's attempts to control the action.

Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tony is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Tony misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tony counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Davis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tony loads up on a big right hand but Davis slips the punch.
Davis throws a leg kick
and Tony cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Davis throws a lazy right hand but Tony sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Davis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

A head kick from Tony lands but Davis takes it in his stride.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tony as he jumps to the side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tony forces Davis back against the cage and clinches.
Davis wants a takedown but no success here.
Tony putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Davis in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Tony successfully pulls guard.
Tony trying to keep a closed guard but Davis is proving a slippery customer.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tony has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Tony's legs - danger averted.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davis wants to control from the top but Tony keeps moving.
Davis pushes down on Tony's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tony tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control.

Davis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Davis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tony does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tony gets back to full guard.

Tony escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Davis postures up.
Tony is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Tony is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davis defends well.
Davis wants to pass the guard but Tony is keeping the position.

Tony wants to sweep here but Davis controlling him for the moment.

Tony escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Davis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Davis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tony does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

James Tony showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Davis doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Tony counter with a right hand.

Davis gets tackled into the cage by Tony. Tony maintains the clinch.

Tony has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Davis after a bit of a struggle.
Davis is looking for a takedown.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Tony prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mickey Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tony changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Davis fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Davis throws a lazy right hand but Tony sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Tony throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Davis was covering up waiting for the punch and Tony finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Tony takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tony wants to control from the top but Davis keeps moving.

Davis is looking to stand up but Tony isn't so interested in that idea.
Davis keeping full guard, as Tony tries to pass.
Tony lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tony throws a big right hand that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tony throws an elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tony's guard. Nice move by Davis!
Tony manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Davis manages to get himself to full guard.
Tony looking to sit in guard and control but Davis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tony is looking for a triangle here but Davis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Davis takes a little break here. Tony wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tony tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to James Tony.
I think Tony has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
