Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jace Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mr Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jiu Jitsu drives through with a takedown into Alexander's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Alexander is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jiu Jitsu is controlling him.
Jiu Jitsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Alexander is retaining full guard.
Jiu Jitsu works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Alexander wants to get back to his feet.

Jiu Jitsu seems to be working for a kimura but Alexander defends the submission attempt.

Jiu Jitsu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alexander defends it well.

Jiu Jitsu is working for a submission of some sort.

Jiu Jitsu is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alexander sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alexander kicks Jiu Jitsu off and gets back to his feet.

Alexander fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jiu Jitsu to the ground. Alexander is now in Jiu Jitsu's guard.

Jiu Jitsu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alexander manages to get himself to full guard.

Jiu Jitsu drops back looking for a leg! Alexander is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alexander manages to kick Jiu Jitsu off! Jiu Jitsu jumps back into Alexander's guard.
Jiu Jitsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Alexander is retaining full guard.
Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jiu Jitsu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Jiu Jitsu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alexander wants to stand and escape but Jiu Jitsu is having none of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jiu Jitsu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alexander looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alexander looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alexander!

Alexander tries for a kimura but Jiu Jitsu is defending well.
Jiu Jitsu prevents Alexander from moving into mount.
Jiu Jitsu regains half guard.
Jiu Jitsu regains full guard. Nicely done.

Jiu Jitsu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jiu Jitsu wants to sweep here but Alexander controlling him for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jiu Jitsu is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Alexander has his hands clasped together but Jiu Jitsu extends an breaks Alexander's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jiu Jitsu.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mr Jiu Jitsu!
Mr Jiu Jitsu gave a mention to Popeye’s Spinach - 159 + 158 Proof Supps in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
