Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arndt Metzger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carwin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to kill or be killed. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arndt Metzger! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Metzger stuffs the takedown. The fight stays on the outside here - Metzger looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Metzger.
Carwin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Metzger misses with the combination.
Metzger tries to clinch but fails miserably and Carwin counters with a stiff right hand. A big right from Carwin misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Metzger forces Carwin back against the cage and clinches. Carwin is trying to pull guard but Metzger has him pressed against the cage. Metzger misses with a knee strike.
Metzger gets underhooks to prevent Carwin's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Carwin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Metzger with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The referee is keeping an eye on Metzger - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Metzger trying to stall but Carwin improves his position.
Metzger with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin wants a takedown.
Carwin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Carwin postures up.
Carwin tries to free his leg and advance position but Metzger is retaining full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Metzger can do anything to dispel that myth. Carwin throws an elbow that misses. Metzger uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carwin's guard. Nice move by Metzger! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Metzger wants to stand but Carwin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Metzger won't allow Carwin to sweep him here. Metzger wants to control from the top but Carwin keeps moving. Metzger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carwin has a closed guard, preventing Metzger from standing up. Carwin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carwin pushes a forearm under Metzger's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Metzger is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
