Tony Maggio is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maggio checks a leg kick nicely.
Starkey moves out of range as Maggio throws a body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Starkey.
Starkey keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Maggio lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Maggio throws a hook to the side of Starkey's head but Starkey sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Starkey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Starkey throws a sloppy head kick and Maggio moves out of range easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Maggio, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Starkey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Starkey drops Maggio with a straight right hand, right on the button! Starkey follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

After winning the bout, George Starkey thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
