The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dignam gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ramirez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ramirez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dignam quickly recovers to half guard.

Ramirez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dignam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ramirez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ramirez stands and throws Dignam's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ramirez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dignam down.
Ramirez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ramirez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dignam keeps working.

Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Dignam is keeping the position.
Ramirez distracts Dignam with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alarcon Ramirez dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dignam tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Ramirez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dignam slaps away a takedown attempt from Ramirez , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dignam moves in looking to clinch but Ramirez pushes him off.
Ramirez tries to close the distance and clinch but Dignam swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dignam tries to clinch up but Ramirez circles away and keeps his distance.
Sean Dignam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dignam stuffs the takedown.

Ramirez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dignam to the ground. Ramirez is now in Dignam's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dignam has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ramirez doesn't defend quickly enough and Dignam has managed to lock this one up! Can Ramirez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dignam on a fantastic submission victory.
