Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Harris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Nunes! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris shoots in and drives through. Nunes sprawls well. Harris tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nunes swivels and escapes. Harris blocks a head kick by Nunes.
Harris fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Harris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harris fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nunes lands with a kick to the temple. Harris shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Harris takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harris. Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Harris moves into the clinch successfully.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Harris shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nunes as he avoids it easily. Nunes lands a head kick. Harris smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Nunes lands a nice looking body kick. Some wild striking there from Nunes.

Harris drives through with a takedown into Nunes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Nunes kicks Harris off and gets to his feet. Harris scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nunes gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nunes has one foot on Harris's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Harris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nunes was covering up waiting for the punch and Harris finishes the takedown easily into guard. Harris preventing the sweep. Nunes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Harris postures up.

Harris shoots in and drives through. Nunes sprawls well. Matt Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nunes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nunes throws a right and a left that Harris avoids nicely. Nunes throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Harris. Nunes throws a lazy head kick and Harris counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Nunes! Nunes tries to get back to half guard but can't. Harris throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Harris landing strikes, looking to finish! Harris landing strikes, looking to finish! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harris raining down shots from the mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nunes holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Harris tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harris landing strikes from the mount and Nunes is in trouble! A nice elbow there by Harris. Harris working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Harris is landing with some decent strikes but Nunes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Harris misses with a head shot. Nunes sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Nunes manages to get to full guard.

Nunes controlling his opponent. Let's hope that Nunes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harris can't escape the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Diego Nunes. Nunes throws out a leg kick but Harris moves out of range and Nunes only half commits. Nunes leaves Harris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nunes quickly recovers to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nunes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Nunes pushes Harris off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Nunes throws a sloppy head kick and Harris moves out of range easily.

Harris feints and as Nunes raises his hands in defense, Harris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nunes wants to get back to his feet but Harris is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Harris lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris wants to stand but Nunes has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Nunes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Nunes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Harris with a flurry of punches that miss. Harris throwing strikes but missing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Harris is looking to work some ground and pound but Nunes has wrist control. Harris wanted to stand there but Nunes had control of the position. Nunes trying to control the position here. Harris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Harris postures up and lands a big shot to Nunes's brow.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Diego Nunes. I think Nunes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
