Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jed Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim has chosen Nessun Dorma as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Do! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jed Kim! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do ducks under a wild hook from Kim. Kim throws a right and a left that Do avoids nicely. Jed Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Do waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kim. Do closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kim to the mat! Kim manages to get full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kim being controlled here, momentarily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kim has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Do has passed into side control.
Do in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Do seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kim for as long as he can get away with. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kim can do anything to dispel that myth. Kim defending against the ground and pound. Do misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Daniel Do has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Do defending well as Kim loads up on a big left hand. Kim misses with a right hand and Do holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Do gets control of Kim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Do will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Do pulls Kim in to control the position. Do trying to control the position.
Do looking for a guillotine here but Kim defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Do striking from his own guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Do lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kim! Kim tries to hold on but Do pushes him away. Do tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Do throwing strikes here but Kim is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Do looking to finish with strikes here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kim wants to hold on but Do pushes him away. Do throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Do is in the full mount, landing strikes. Do is working for a guillotine from mount but Kim frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Do dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kim throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Do counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Do is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Do thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Do prevents Kim from improving his position. Do with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Do moves nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Do staying calm. Do throwing strikes but missing, from side control. A lull in the action here. Do moves into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Do takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Do goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kim turns into him and now he's in Do's guard.
Do has a closed guard, preventing Kim from standing up. Kim must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kim is sitting in close to Do's body. Do has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kim is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kim is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Do.
