Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billiam Cooleridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooleridge comes to the cage accompanied by MC Pee Pants - "I Want Candy". We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Severyn! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severyn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cooleridge gets back to full guard.
Severyn wants to control from the top but Cooleridge keeps moving. Severyn is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Severyn gets to his feet - Cooleridge follows without any prompting. Severyn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cooleridge to the ground. Severyn is now in Cooleridge's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Severyn trying to control but Cooleridge is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cooleridge is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cooleridge is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Severyn can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cooleridge is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Severyn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cooleridge postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Severyn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cooleridge, into his guard. Cooleridge working for a triangle but Severyn defends it easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cooleridge is breathing heavily. Cooleridge keeping full guard, as Severyn tries to pass. Cooleridge looking to hit a scissor sweep but Severyn is one step ahead there. Cooleridge has his foot on Severyn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Severyn works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Severyn drops back looking for a leg! Cooleridge is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cooleridge manages to kick Severyn off! Severyn jumps back into Cooleridge's guard. Cooleridge wants to sweep here but Severyn controlling him for the moment. Cooleridge escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Severyn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Severyn passes Cooleridge's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cooleridge tries to roll over but Severyn keeps him under control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Severyn is looking to advance position but Cooleridge won't allow it. Severyn prevents Cooleridge from improving his position. Severyn wants to take a breather but Cooleridge is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billiam Cooleridge dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Severyn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cooleridge actively working from the bottom here. Cooleridge is refusing to be controlled, as Severyn sits in half guard. Cooleridge manages to get to full guard.
Severyn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooleridge swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cooleridge keeping moving, preventing Severyn from controlling successfully. Cooleridge had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Severyn defends it easily. Billiam Cooleridge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Severyn passes easily into side control. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cooleridge manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Cooleridge keeping full guard, as Severyn tries to pass. Cooleridge manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Severyn manages to get himself to full guard.

No, Severyn has managed to get both his arms back between Cooleridge's legs - danger averted. Severyn advances to half guard. Severyn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cooleridge with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Severyn is having to fend off submission attempts from Cooleridge, who is looking to sink in the choke. Cooleridge doesn't have the hooks in though and Severyn manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Severyn working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Cooleridge has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Severyn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cooleridge tries to land a sweep but no joy. Severyn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Severyn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Dan Severyn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Severyn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cooleridge works his way to full guard. Good work. Severyn is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Severyn is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Cooleridge.
